The Teshio Baptist Mission was begun in 1985 when the Kenneth Mansell family moved to Teshio. After arriving in Japan in 1983, they spent the first two years under a veteran missionary in the area before starting the work in Teshio. The work in this northern fishing and dairy farming area of northern Hokkaido, Japan has been slow but God has blessed with a number of adults and children being saved and baptized. Because there are not enough baptized believers yet, missionary Mansell and family continue to minister and evangelize in the community.
